Savannah Combs, 23, from Middleburg, Florida, has gone viral on TikTok for sharing her journey with her rare Down syndrome twin daughters, Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman. Twin pregnancies are already uncommon, and with Down syndrome, their case is even rarer. Despite facing judgment from some people, Savannah views her daughters as “little gems” and embraces their uniqueness.
Advised to terminate her pregnancy due to health concerns, Savannah and her husband, Justin Ackerman, chose to keep the babies and give them a chance. The twins were born prematurely at 29 weeks on May 12, 2021, spending some time in the NICU before going home. Savannah proudly shares their milestones, saying, “They will get there.”
In response to cruel social media comments, Savannah wrote, “Good thing they weren’t born to you and were born to me.” Her message is clear—love and acceptance are what truly matter.
