
Len Goodman, the beloved head judge on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) and Strictly Come Dancing, has passed away at the age of 78 after a battle with bone cancer. His agent confirmed he died peacefully on Saturday evening surrounded by family in a hospice in Kent.
Goodman’s career spanned decades, earning him a special place in the hearts of millions. He was known for his wit, charm, and dedication to ballroom dancing. He served as head judge on DWTS for 31 seasons, and also spent 12 seasons on Strictly Come Dancing, helping to revive the popularity of ballroom dance in both the UK and the US.
Tributes poured in from fellow judges and past cast members, including Carrie Ann Inaba, who called him “a treasured friend,” and Kym Johnson-Herjavec, who fondly recalled his “cheeky grin and quick wit.” Goodman retired in November 2022, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
