An 11-year-old boy from New York, John Francis Hoague-Rivette, is battling a terminal brain cancer known as grade 3 Glioma. His symptoms began in May 2019, leading to difficulties with speaking, walking, and daily tasks. After a long surgery to remove a mass, he was diagnosed with the cancer, and doctors later gave his family a difficult choice: continue care in the hospital or take him home for comfort.
Despite his worsening condition, John’s family is requesting support in the form of challenge coins, pins, and patches from military and law enforcement groups, alongside prayers for John. John has a deep admiration for first responders and military personnel, sparked by visits from local police and a special ceremony where he was made an honorary captain of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. His family, including some members in law enforcement, is continuing to honor his wishes during this difficult time.
