An 83-year-old man named Phillip reported a break-in in progress at his home, but the police dispatcher informed him that all patrols were busy and advised him to lock his doors and wait for an officer. After hanging up, Phillip counted to 30, then called the police again, falsely claiming he had shot the burglars. Within minutes, a large police response, including six squad cars, a SWAT team, a helicopter, and an ambulance, arrived at his home and apprehended the burglars. When asked about his earlier statement, Phillip humorously responded, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”
