Keanu Reeves, a beloved actor known for his action-packed roles in The Matrix and John Wick franchises, recently shared an unexpected story about a mishap on the set of the upcoming comedy Good Fortune. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 59-year-old actor recounted how he suffered a broken kneecap in a rather unconventional way.
When Colbert asked how the injury occurred, Reeves humorously clarified, “No one got to me. Accident got to me.” He went on to explain that the incident happened while filming a scene with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. After enjoying a cold plunge with his co-stars, Reeves began performing what he called the “cold shuffle” in a room with carpeted flooring. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in a pocket of uneven surface, leading to a fall that resulted in a fractured kneecap.
Reeves, ever the good sport, demonstrated the mishap to Colbert, describing how his knee “spiked” into the ground, breaking his patella. Despite the injury, Reeves maintained his signature humor, quipping, “Comedy is hard, man.”
The incident highlights the unpredictable nature of on-set accidents, even in a non-action movie. Good Fortune, directed by Aziz Ansari in his directorial debut, also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
