Goldie Hawn has revealed her decision to leave Los Angeles, citing rising crime rates and personal safety concerns. Speaking on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, the beloved actress shared that her family experienced two alarming break-ins within a short period, prompting her to reevaluate her living situation.
Hawn explained that she and her longtime partner, Kurt Russell, had been considering relocating for some time. They found Palm Desert appealing, describing it as safer compared to Los Angeles, which they now see as “terrible” due to escalating crime.
Recalling the first incident, Hawn revealed that sophisticated burglars managed to break through secure doors and ransacked their home, taking valuables. Only four months later, their property was targeted again. “They completely knocked down my door,” she said, underscoring the advanced methods used by the intruders.
These repeated invasions left a lasting impact on Hawn, making her feel constantly on edge. The actress admitted that these experiences pushed her to prioritize her peace of mind by moving away.
Her story highlights a growing trend, as several high-profile individuals have also been affected by increasing crime in Los Angeles.
