Celine Dion makes red-carpet comeback with son, 23 – fans say he looks just like his dad

Escorted by her eldest son, René-Charles Angélil, the “Queen of Power Ballads” gracefully walked the red carpet at the New York City screening of her new documentary, I Am: Celine Dion.

Since her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome, Celine Dion has largely stayed out of the spotlight. However, at the premiere, she sparkled, lighting up the red carpet with her signature “magic.”

Despite the joyous occasion, some fans were critical of her son, with comments noting, “he’s aging like his father,” who passed away in 2016.

For the premiere, Dion was joined by her 23-year-old son René-Charles Angélil, the eldest of her three children with her late husband René Angélil. The singer of “My Heart Will Go On” dazzled in a monochromatic white ensemble featuring a floor-sweeping skirt and an elegant long-sleeved blouse, accessorized with a silver belt, matching bracelets, and stud earrings. René-Charles looked dapper in a black suit with matching dress shoes and a chunky ring on his pinky finger.

Fans, thrilled to see Dion back in action, shared their admiration for her stunning return. One fan remarked, “Classy. Mature. Legend,” while another wrote, “My queen, you look amazing. So grateful as always. You have been missed. [I love you].” A third added, “So nice to see her well. Looking beautiful and looking healthy.” Another commented, “The queen has been through so much, and here she is absolutely glowing.”

However, not all comments were kind regarding René-Charles. One critic said, “Ummm…23??!!! I know he is young but my dude doesn’t look like he is in his early 20’s; he looks 10 to 15 years older.” Another added, “I think her son looks 40 years old.” Expressing surprise, another commented, “23?!?! Omg, I thought he was my age. I’m 30 lol, he’s aging like his daddy.”

In defense of the mother-son duo, a supportive fan said, “These comments are awful…Celine Dion has pushed through physical hell to make it back to the red carpet, and all y’all can talk about is how old her son looks?” Another added, “They look stunning! Both of them. Classy as well. And he looks a lot like his father. So nice to see them.”
