Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is renowned for its ability to balance scalp pH, reduce dandruff, and enhance hair shine. Its acetic acid removes product buildup, while its nutrients nourish the hair and scalp. Curious about its benefits, I left ACV in my hair overnight and observed the results.
To prepare, I mixed raw, unfiltered ACV with water in a 1:1 ratio, testing it on a small scalp area to avoid irritation. I sprayed the solution evenly on my hair and scalp, massaged it in, and covered it with a shower cap. The next morning, I rinsed my hair and shampooed to remove any residual smell.
The results were impressive. My hair felt softer, smoother, and shinier, with reduced frizz. My scalp felt cleaner, and itchiness decreased. Though long-term effects on growth remain uncertain, ACV’s clarifying and pH-balancing properties were clear.
While effective, ACV must be diluted to prevent irritation. Used sparingly, it’s a natural, cost-effective alternative to chemical treatments, providing clarity and shine without synthetic additives.
