Story 1: The Unexpected Proposal
I woke up to an ordinary Wednesday, the sun shining through my bedroom window. I grabbed a quick breakfast, checked my emails, and headed to work. The day seemed like any other. At the office, I buried myself in reports and meetings, feeling the usual mid-week fatigue creeping in.
Around lunchtime, my boss called me into his office. He seemed unusually serious, making me wonder if I’d missed something important. He handed me a letter and said, “I think this is yours.”
Confused, I opened it. Inside was an invitation to a surprise event that evening. Before I could ask more questions, he smiled and added, “It’s not a work event. Trust me.”
That evening, I followed the instructions on the invitation, which led me to a quiet restaurant. As I entered, I was met by my best friend, Sarah, holding a glass of champagne. “Surprise!” she beamed.
Before I could respond, a man appeared behind me. It was Matt, my longtime friend. With a nervous smile, he got down on one knee, holding a ring. “I’ve been in love with you for years. Will you marry me?”
