The 24th of March 2008 changed Matt Logelin’s life for good. He had to wait for 27 hours before his wife Liz gave birth to their beautiful daughter Madeline. What a terrible turn of events! Liz died the next day from a rare lung embolism. When Matt was 30, his world fell apart. He lost his wife and became a single parent.
Matt and Liz fell in love in high school and couldn’t be apart. Even though they went to college in different parts of the country, they stayed together. Matt went to Los Angeles to be with Liz in the end, and the two got married in 2005. They chose to start a family after two years, and Liz got pregnant with Madeline.
With Liz’s high-risk pregnancy, she was taken to the hospital more than once for false fears. The last time Madeline was born was by emergency C-section on March 24, 2008. After 27 hours, Liz died, so her happiness did not last long
It was very hard for Matt to deal with his sadness after the death of his beloved wife. The first few weeks were the worst of his life, but taking care of his new daughter made him feel better. In order to deal with the difficulties of being a single parent, Matt started writing on a blog. Sharing his story and talking to other people who had been through similar losses helped him feel better.
Even after Madeline turned 18, Matt kept writing about their journey on his blog. He wrote about the good and bad things that came with having a child by yourself and how Madeline remembered her mother. Matt’s blog grew over time to show how strong love and determination can be.
Madeline is a smart and interested 10-year-old now. She is a happy and well-adjusted child, even though she has had some problems. This woman is happy because of Matt’s love and loyalty, and he keeps telling everyone about their story. Because of his blog, Matt has left Liz a permanent gift and shown that their love will last forever.
