Caught in a sudden downpour, Linda Meyers sought refuge at a renowned cafe frequented by the elite. Soaked and disheveled, she approached the entrance but was rudely stopped by the porter.
“This is an exclusive cafe. You need a reservation,” he sneered, glancing at her soaked appearance. Offended, Linda requested the manager, Simon, who echoed the porter’s sentiments.
“We can’t let you in looking like that. You’ll scare the guests,” Simon said dismissively.
Hurt, Linda left in the rain.
The next day, Simon was summoned by the cafe’s owner, who announced special guests were coming: potential buyers of the cafe. That evening, Simon was introduced to the guests—and froze. The woman was Linda.
Feigning politeness, Linda praised Simon before purchasing the cafe. The next day, she demoted him to a waiter.
Days later, Simon compassionately paid for a poor woman’s meal when she couldn’t afford it. Linda revealed the woman was her friend and a test of his character.
“You’ve learned your lesson. You’re reinstated as manager,” Linda smiled.
Grateful, Simon embraced kindness, and the cafe thrived under its transformed leader.
