Kiena Dawes, a mother of three from Fleetwood, Lancashire, tragically took her life on July 22, 2022, following a harrowing experience of abuse and neglect. After dropping off her 9-month-old baby with a friend, Kiena went to a railway track, where British Transport Police later found her body. Her heartbreaking final letter, addressed to her ex-partner, detailed the violence and control she endured, accusing him of “murdering her slowly.”
Kiena’s poignant farewell included an apology to her daughter, expressing deep sorrow for leaving and recounting the dreams and strength she once had, now taken from her. Her ex-partner, accused of abuse and violating a restraining order, faces charges including Actual Bodily Harm, coercive control, and manslaughter.
Reports suggest Kiena sought help from authorities days before her death but felt dismissed. Her brother revealed she was told to delete a Facebook post showing injuries from the abuse. Kiena’s tragic story underscores the urgent need for support and intervention for abuse survivors.
