Will Sutton, the son of a wealthy inventor, had always felt the sting of people using him for his family’s fortune. As a high school student, he grew tired of the fake friendships and relationships based on his father’s wealth. So, Will devised a plan to attend Yale as a “scholarship student,” wearing second-hand clothes to appear poor. His goal was to make real, sincere friends and find love without the influence of money. His plan worked, and he met Eddy, a girl who truly liked him for who he was. By his third year, Will proposed to Eddy, and she said yes. However, when Will met her wealthy, snobbish parents, Marta and Farlow, they were not pleased. They believed their daughter deserved to marry a rich man, not a “shabby” science major. Despite their subtle disapproval, Eddy insisted on having Christmas celebrations together. Will, determined to prove himself, had no idea how far his father, Sam, would go to teach a lesson about love and true worth.
