Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton: A Royal Rift
The tension between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton reportedly began before the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding. Allegedly, Meghan was left in tears following an issue with Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress. This was just the start of a feud between Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate that shows little sign of resolution.
When Meghan and Harry moved to the U.S., William and Kate reportedly explored the “US Royal Market,” a move that didn’t sit well with Meghan. Kate’s 2024 Time Magazine nomination as Person of the Year only added fuel, with some royal experts suggesting Meghan felt envious of the honor.
Initially, Meghan and Kate seemed to get along, but tensions emerged. In Harry’s memoir Spare, he recalled William and Kate’s initial skepticism, allegedly saying, “She’s an American actress, anything could happen.”
Despite the rift, former royal butler Grant Harrold suggested Kate may reach out to Meghan this Christmas, emphasizing goodwill and reconciliation.
As the Sussexes face challenges with Netflix, including speculation their contract may not renew in 2025, Meghan is set to launch a new series in early 2025.
Will the royal families reconcile? Time will tell.
