Before the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018, Kate reportedly made Meghan cry over an alleged issue with Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress. The feud between Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate has been going on for years, and there is little indication that they will make peace anytime soon.
Princess connections
When Meghan Markle returned to the United States with her husband, William and Kate reportedly began exploring the “US Royal Market.” That was clearly not well received by Meghan, especially given Kate’s recent honorable nomination by Time Magazine.
In fact, one royal expert believes Meghan struggled to let it go—and even became jealous.
Kate and Meghan got along well at first, according to the public, and appeared to enjoy each other’s company while out on public duties. Unfortunately, their relationship did not begin off to the best of starts.
According to Prince Harry, Meghan made a strong first impression before meeting William or Kate. According to Harry’s book Spare, when the now-estranged prince told his brother and sister-in-law that he was dating the television actress, they were left “speechless.”
“When all’s said and done, Harold, she’s an American actress, anything could happen,” William is said to have told his brother.
Meghan Markle & Kate Middleton’s first meeting
In their 2023 Netflix series Harry & Meghan, various secrets of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s feud were revealed. In the series, the Duchess of Sussex reflected on her first meeting with Kate, which was not the most fruitful.
Harry also revealed that his brother “recoiled” when Meghan attempted to hug him, as he didn’t usually hug strangers.
