Stacy and Babajide, a couple from Lagos, Nigeria, dreamed of giving their daughter a sibling. When Stacy, 31, went for an ultrasound, she discovered she was expecting twins, a surprise that soon became extraordinary. On February 26, 2019, their sons, Daniel and David Omirin, were born. Despite being twins, the boys looked completely different. Daniel had dark skin and curly black hair, resembling their older sister, Demilade, while David had golden curls and white skin.
David’s unique appearance is due to oculocutaneous albinism, a rare genetic condition causing a lack of pigmentation. This surprised everyone, including hospital staff. “The doctors said, ‘You’re having unidentical twins,’” Stacy recalled. Though initially concerned about David’s health and societal reactions, she was relieved to find him healthy.
The twins’ striking looks have attracted modeling agencies, though Stacy focuses on educating others about albinism. Daniel is outgoing and loves food, while David is observant and calm. Despite their differences, the boys are inseparable. Stacy cherishes their uniqueness and hopes they inspire others to celebrate diversity.
