Beloved TV star Francisco San Martin has tragically died aged 39.
San Martin, from Mallorca, Spain, grew up in America before moving back home where he worked as a model.
The actor was best known for the role of Dario Hernandez on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. He played a thief, who later turned out to be an investigator.
He starred in the soap The Bold and the Beautiful and had a recurring role as estate manager Fabian in the hit show Jane the Virgin in 2017.
San Martin also starred in the Steven Soderbergh film Behind the Candelabra alongside Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
Tributes are pouring in from fans after confirmation of San Martin’s passing.
One follower says: “Heartbreaking! Francisco San Martin’s talent and charm will be deeply missed. Love and prayers to his loved ones.”
Another adds: “Sending prayers to his family, he will be missed.”
“So sad and heartbreaking so young and handsome man. Rest In peace,” a third says.
A fourth fan comments: “So sad to hear about the death of Francisco San Martin, a star from Days of Our Lives and Jane the Virgin. He was only 39! His contributions to television will never be forgotten.”
San Martin’s co-stars are also paying tributes, with Camila Banus, who played the actor’s character’s sister Gabi Hernandez, pens (per Forbes): “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend. Love you mucho mucho mucho. I wish I had told you more.”
TV Journalist Michael Fairman writes: “Very, very sad. I am a bit in shock, as I saw Francisco at my gym almost every day.”
San Martin was found deceased at his Los Angeles home by police on January 16, reports Deadline.
