Some bonds between humans and pets turn out to be extraordinary. While most pet owners love their pets, some form a deep, unique connection.
Scott and Biggie exemplify such a bond.
One day, Scott drove through Payette, Idaho, to clear his head. He saw a sign for German Shepherd puppies. Having recently lost his dog, he wasn’t planning to adopt—but one look at Biggie changed everything. The pup had health issues, including a hernia, which made him the last to be adopted. Scott didn’t mind and took him home that day.
Scott vowed to give Biggie the best life possible. The mountains became Biggie’s happy place, where they hike, swim, snowboard, and skateboard together. Biggie listens intently, always alert for Scott’s commands. Despite his size, he’s a playful pup, always carrying a small ball like a pacifier.
Their bond has helped Scott overcome depression. However, caring for Biggie requires commitment, including two hours of daily exercise. A recent health scare reminded Scott never to take life for granted.
Biggie, once unwanted, is now Scott’s best friend. Consider adopting a pet—they can change your life, too.
