When three babysitters quit after just one day, Sarah knew something was off. Determined to figure out what was going on in her home, she set up a hidden camera, and what she discovered left her stunned.
The morning sun streamed through the kitchen as Lily’s half-eaten cereal sat on the table. I wiped Max’s sticky hands as he giggled, unaware of my frustration. My phone buzzed.
“I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to continue working with your family. Thank you.”
Megan, the babysitter I hired yesterday, was quitting. The third one this month. I sighed, deleting the message. Lily played quietly while Max toddled around, happy as ever. So why did they all leave?
When Julie came for coffee, I couldn’t hold it in. “They all quit after one day. No explanation.”
“Strange. Maybe it’s not the job… maybe it’s someone in the house.”
That night, I found our old nanny cam and set it up. The next day, I hired Rachel and watched the live feed from my car. Everything seemed fine until Dave came home early.
“Sarah’s struggling with postpartum depression,” he told Rachel, voice serious. “It might be best if you left.”
I was stunned. He’d been driving them away.
“I thought you should stay home,” he said when I confronted him.
“You decided that for me?”
The silence was deafening. I packed my bags, taking the kids. The future was uncertain, but I was finally taking control.
