Princess Diana was adored worldwide for her kindness, humor, and dedication as a mother and role model. Her tragic death in a Paris car accident shook the world, leaving an enduring legacy.

Surgeon MonSef Dahman, who tried to save Diana that fateful night, recently shared his experience. He wasn’t supposed to work that night, but due to his pregnant wife staying in Paris, he was on duty. At 2 a.m., Dahman was called to the emergency room for a serious accident involving a young woman — only upon arrival did he realize it was Princess Diana.

Despite their best efforts, Diana’s internal injuries were too severe. Dahman and his team performed CPR, electric shocks, and a surgical procedure, but her heart would not restart.
Dahman still recalls that night vividly and feels deeply affected by the loss. As August approaches each year, he remembers Diana and the desperate attempts to save her.
Princess Diana’s warmth and compassion continue to inspire, and her legacy lives on through her sons, William and Harry, and the countless lives she touched.
