Doing good and being helpful toward those in need makes the world a better place. In times when humanity feels broken, people like Matthew Resendez restore our faith.
While working at a local Burger King, in an area where many homeless people gather, a man entered with only a handful of coins. He asked if he could get a meal for 50 cents, which was all he had. The man wasn’t asking for charity; he was simply trying to buy food, even though his money wasn’t enough for any meal on the menu.
Matthew, unable to turn him away, decided to help. He used his own money to pay for the man’s meal. When he got home and told his mom, she shared the story with her friends, never expecting it to go viral.
His mom, Michelle, proudly shared the story: “Matthew rung him up for a hearty meal and paid with his own card. A woman who witnessed the act later rewarded him with a generous tip.”
Matthew’s story went viral, and millions are inspired by his kindness and compassion. His mom couldn’t be prouder.
