When my teenage daughter saved up for a sewing machine, she didn’t expect her stepmother to destroy it out of spite. But when I heard the news, I knew it was time for revenge.
My daughter, Rachel, is 16 and dreams of becoming a fashion designer. She lives with me most of the time, but her dad, Mark, remarried Karen, who’s strict and unkind. Rachel had saved up for months to buy a sewing machine, working a part-time job to afford it. When she finally brought it home, Karen threw it in the pool after a minor disagreement. Rachel was devastated, and I was furious.
I couldn’t let this go. With help from a friend, Jason, who owed me a favor, we devised a plan. We had Jason dress as a police officer and “confiscate” Karen’s laptop, causing her to panic. Rachel filmed the whole thing, and when Karen begged, I stepped in, offering her a choice: pay for the machine and apologize or face public humiliation.
Karen grudgingly paid, and Rachel got a new machine. Since then, Rachel hasn’t spent weekends there. Nobody messes with my daughter.
