I trusted Janice, our new babysitter, to care for my children, and everything seemed perfect. She was warm, kind, and attentive with my kids, Liam and Lily. She kept me updated with texts and pictures throughout the day, and I often praised her for how well she handled everything.
But one day, Lily tugged at my sleeve and whispered, “Janice has a secret.” My heart dropped as she explained that Janice had been sneaking into my bedroom when Lily took her nap, taking off her clothes, and making “weird noises.” I was horrified.
I decided to investigate. I arrived home early the next day, hoping to catch Janice in the act. When I peeked into my bedroom, I saw her sewing a dress for me. She was a seamstress and had been making clothes for me in her free time, wanting to surprise me.
I felt relief and gratitude, realizing my fears were misplaced. Janice wasn’t hiding anything sinister, just a thoughtful gesture.
