MY ALWAYS-BUSY >>>>>

For as long as I could remember, I had believed that our anniversary was a sacred moment—a time when love, commitment, and family were celebrated. Richard and I had been together for 20 years, and 15 of those years we had been married. Our life together was far from perfect, but we had built it on a foundation of trust and shared dreams.

I had always looked forward to the little traditions: the carefully planned surprises, the heartfelt gifts, and the simple joy of knowing that our love was celebrated annually.

But for the past five years, something had changed. My always-busy husband, Jack, had become increasingly absent on our special day. While I spent countless hours preparing surprises—flowers, home-cooked meals, and romantic gestures—Jack’s work trips and late nights became a convenient excuse for forgetting our anniversary. I had grown used to it, silently hoping that one day he’d remember the importance of the day we’d vowed never to forget. I was patient, I reassured myself, and I hoped that eventually, his love and attention would return to the celebration that meant so much to me.

That year, however, would prove to be different. On our 15th wedding anniversary, just as I was bracing for yet another day of lonely waiting, Jack surprised me. Three hours after what I presumed was another forgotten day, he arrived home carrying a bouquet of fresh flowers and a mischievous smile. “You have 30 minutes to pack your things; we’re going to a spa hotel!” he announced, as if our long-awaited celebration was finally on track.

This narrative follows my tumultuous journey on what was meant to be a celebration of love—a 15th wedding anniversary turned sour. After years of neglectful anniversaries and empty promises, my always-busy husband surprised me with a spa getaway. But as I prepared for an evening of romance, I discovered a shocking card revealing that he had been celebrating with another woman. Overwhelmed by betrayal, I confronted him and ultimately canceled the wedding. In the painful aftermath, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. Through candid reflections, the support of friends, and the determination to reclaim my worth, I learned that true happiness comes from choosing to live authentically. This is a story of heartbreak transformed into strength—a reminder that sometimes the bravest choice is to choose yourself.
