On his 80th birthday, Richard visits his daughter, Deidre, only to find her in tears and unwilling to let him in. After peeking through her windows, he discovers two men threatening her over an $80,000 loan. Desperate to help, Richard follows the men and confronts Mr. Marco, the loan shark. Richard agrees to smuggle contraband across the border to pay off Deidre’s debt. But things go wrong when he’s chased by police, leading to a crash that nearly kills him. Richard secures a mortgage to repay the debt but is confronted by Mr. Marco and his thugs. A standoff ensues, but police arrive just in time, arresting the criminals. Richard and Deidre are rescued, and although Deidre apologizes for not telling him sooner, Richard reassures her that she’s not a failure. He wishes she had been more open with him, but he’s just happy she’s safe. Despite the chaos, Richard’s love for his daughter prevails, and they drive away together, knowing they can face anything as long as they’re united.
