A video making the rounds on social media shows Chalamet and John at the Oscars standing and chatting before the actor hugged the music icon. Chalamet then turned to introduce Jenner, who stayed seated as she extended her hand to greet John.
The “Rocket Man” singer responded by kissing Kylie Jenner’s hand. However, the influencer’s choice to remain seated didn’t sit well with many viewers, sparking widespread debate online.

One person declared, “That is Sir Elton John, you stand when being greeted to (sic) him.” Another fan didn’t mince words, writing, “Disrespectful.” Someone else was just as direct, stating, “It’s just plain rude to stay sitting while shaking someone’s hand.”
