A dog is the most faithful and affectionate companion one can have on this planet.

With Geo by his side, 25-year-old Byron owes his existence, without whom he wouldn’t still be surviving.

Engulfed in deep sadness following his breakup, Byron, a resident of Gloucester, England, resorted to alcohol to silence his torments.

Writing a farewell note to his kin, Byron eventually took the decision to end his own life with a self-made noose.

Despite making the choice to bid adieu to this world, there was a presence in the abode that refused to sit idly by and watch his dearest buddy say goodbye.

Sensing that he had hit rock bottom and seeing no path to recovery, 25-year-old Byron Taylor felt compelled to address his dire situation.

One evening, after getting significantly inebriated, he decided to fashion a noose. Subsequently, he descended to compose a farewell letter to his family, as per the Daily Mail.

Upon his return to the upper floor, Byron noticed Geo, his dog, holding an object in its mouth.

Whilst Byron was downstairs, Geo, a Welsh bullmastiff aged six, snatched the noose. Upon Byron’s attempt to retrieve it, Geo adamantly refused to relinquish it.

Initially mistaking Geo’s actions for playfulness, Byron soon discerned the gravity of the situation. Geo seemed to comprehend Byron’s intentions and snarled, daring him to take the rope from his grip.

Upon releasing the rope, Geo had shredded it to pieces.

Byron accords Geo for his rescue, asserting that without Geo’s intervention, he wouldn’t have survived.

Byron remarked on Geo’s apparent prescience regarding his intentions, hinting at the dog’s anticipation of a forthcoming event.

Geo’s swift actions thwarted Byron’s plan and completely transformed his outlook.

Though Byron courageously confronted his depression, he was once again confronted with hardship only a couple of years later.

After Geo was diagnosed with a terminal tumor and given a few days to live, Byron initiated a lighthearted fundraiser online for Geo’s medical costs, unfortunately, the vets were unable to save the dog.

Determined to ensure Geo relished every moment during his final days, Byron made it his mission.

Even after losing his dearest companion, he will eternally cherish him for giving him the ultimate gift… the gift of life!
