A tragic incident occurred at Wappa Falls in southeast Queensland when a young girl, Honour Ward, fell off the waterfall around 2:30 p.m. local time. Reports indicated that she failed to resurface after the fall. A 17-year-old boy, identified as Beau Liddell, bravely jumped into the water to assist in locating Honour, but he also failed to resurface.

Emergency services, including Queensland Fire Department and Police divers, launched a search and rescue operation. Forty minutes later, at around 2:50 p.m., Honour’s body was located in the water, unresponsive and deceased. Tragically, Beau Liddell’s body was found by divers at 7:25 p.m., nearly five hours after the search began.
The police have confirmed that reports for both individuals will be prepared for the coroner, and Wappa Falls will remain closed during the investigation. Honour and Beau, both former Sunshine Beach State High School students, have been remembered by their families and friends.
Beau’s father, Adam Liddell, expressed heartbreak over the loss, stating, “the whole family is just a mess” after the passing of his son.
