Victoria’s children, busy with their lives, rarely called her, except for Christmas. This year, her son, Matthew, discovered she was working as a cleaner at a furniture store and stopped communicating with her altogether. Victoria feared spending the holidays alone until a surprising knock on her door changed everything.
Victoria had been working as a cleaner at 65, struggling to make ends meet after her husband’s death. Her children, busy with their own businesses, barely contacted her anymore. Yet, she managed to buy presents for everyone, hoping to keep the holiday spirit alive.
When Matthew saw her at the store, he was shocked, and his reaction confused her. She tried to reach out, but he avoided her calls. Two days before Christmas, after speaking with her friend Lorena, Victoria grew anxious, unsure if her children would even invite her for the holiday.
Then, on Christmas morning, her children and grandchildren surprised her, revealing that Matthew had been ashamed not of her job, but of his own guilt for not supporting her. They spent a wonderful Christmas together, and Victoria felt deeply appreciated.
