Addison, a dedicated neurologist, never had time for romance due to her demanding job. One day, her cheerful coworker Nathan set her up on a blind date with a seemingly perfect man named Jake. Although she was hesitant, Addison agreed to give it a shot, craving a change from her routine.
On their date, everything seemed to go well—Jake was charming, and Addison felt a spark of hope. As the evening progressed, however, Addison shared her personal “three-year rule” about relationships: she wasn’t willing to invest in anything long-term unless it had the potential to last three years or more. To her surprise, Jake abruptly stood up and walked out of the restaurant without a word.
Confused and hurt, Addison sat in the restaurant, wondering what had gone wrong. She had hoped this could be the start of something new, but now she was left questioning whether her rule had scared Jake off or if she was just unlucky in love.
