President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order under the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) initiative led by Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., targeting the alarming rise in childhood chronic diseases. In 2022 alone, 30 million U.S. children were reportedly affected. Conditions like autism (1 in 36 children), prediabetes (30% of adolescents), fatty liver disease (18%), and obesity (over 40%) are among the most prevalent.
RFK Jr. emphasized the need for “unbiased science,” vowing to investigate traditionally overlooked factors such as childhood vaccine schedules, electromagnetic radiation, pesticides, SSRIs, microplastics, and more. The MAHA Commission, composed of representatives from the FDA, NIH, and CDC, will review policies on nutrition, environmental factors, and medication practices.
The goal is to reduce chronic disease rates by promoting healthier lifestyles and increasing transparency in public health data while safeguarding scientific integrity from political or commercial bias.
