Jesse Schwenker, a 29-year-old fitness enthusiast from Florida, fell for transgender woman Cassidy Cauley after discovering her on Instagram in 2022. Their bond grew quickly. “I believed in traditional love,” Jesse said, “but Cassidy changed that—love is about the person, not the label.”
Cassidy, who knew from a young age that she identified as a woman, began her transition journey at 14 after watching a life-changing YouTube video. Though she’s been subjected to harsh criticism online, she’s remained resilient with the support of her parents.
Before meeting Jesse, Cassidy says she often felt rejected in relationships after opening up about being trans. “People accused me of ‘tricking’ them,” she shares.
But Jesse’s reaction was different — his support and acceptance helped her heal from past wounds.
“When I first told my friends and family about Cassidy, I didn’t get the reaction I hoped for,” Jesse says. “I lost a few friends. But honestly, if they couldn’t be happy for me, they were never really my friends.”

“I’ve never had a real relationship before,” Cassidy shared. “Most guys only loved the fantasy of me. But Jesse saw my heart. He made me feel safe.” Despite receiving death threats for dating a trans woman, Jesse stood proudly by her side. “Nothing anyone says could hurt me or Cassidy,” he said. The couple chose to share their story not for fame but to break stereotypes. “We wanted to show love has no boundaries,” Cassidy added. Sadly, in July 2024, Jesse revealed their breakup, stating Cassidy had cheated. “We just wanted a normal, happy life,” Jesse said, reflecting on their journey.
“I feel like I got spit in the face after showing the world how amazing she was,” Jess said. He’s since deleted all their photos and found love again with Elena, posting, “I’ll stand ten toes down for you until they toe tag me and drop that casket.”
