MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace sharply criticized former President Donald Trump on Wednesday’s Deadline, accusing him of humiliating the United States during an Oval Office meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Wallace stated, “Another day for the history books from Donald J. Trump. An astonishing display in the White House—Trump attempted to ambush and humiliate President Ramaphosa, but instead embarrassed the American people.”
During the meeting, Trump repeated unproven claims of genocide against white South Africans—a fringe conspiracy theory promoted by figures like Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and former KKK leader David Duke. These claims are widely discredited and rooted in racist narratives about post-apartheid South Africa.
In the Oval Office, Trump said, “We’ve had a tremendous number of people, especially white farmers, fleeing South Africa. It’s a very sad thing to see… It will be the end of the country if it’s not fixed.”
Wallace concluded, “There you have it—conspiracy theory peddling from the leader of the United States, once again tarnishing America’s image from the gilded Oval Office, showing a reckless disregard for truth and diplomacy.”
