Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, two Israeli Embassy staff members, were tragically shot and killed while leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., in what officials have described as a terrorist attack. The Israeli Embassy in the U.S. called them “friends and colleagues in the prime of their lives” and expressed profound sorrow over their loss.
President Donald Trump responded via Truth Social, condemning the act as rooted in antisemitism, stating, “These horrible D.C. killings… must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA.”
Israel’s government released a powerful statement mourning the victims and praising their courage, noting that they served on the front lines of Israeli diplomacy. Ambassador Yechiel Leiter revealed the couple was planning their future together—Lischinsky had recently purchased an engagement ring and was preparing to propose in Jerusalem.
Both had impressive careers: Milgrim held two Master’s degrees and worked in Public Diplomacy, while Lischinsky had advanced degrees and worked in Middle East affairs. The embassy vowed to stand strong against terror, supporting the families and continuing their mission with determination and resolve.
