Ronnie Haston’s stepdaughter is now running a marathon in his name after he died suddenly of blood cancer
- Ronnie Haston began to feel ill toward the end of March 2024, but his doctor dismissed the 68-year-old’s symptoms as constipation, gave him laxatives, and told him to wait two weeks for blood work
- Two weeks later, he was admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with the blood cancer myeloma and began treatment — but died on April 6, 2024
- His stepdaughter is now running a marathon to raise money for blood cancer research

In March 2024, Ronnie Haston, 68, experienced fatigue and weakness but was misdiagnosed with constipation. His condition worsened rapidly. Rushed to the hospital by his wife, he was diagnosed with myeloma, a blood cancer that affects plasma cells and disrupts normal blood function, his stepdaughter Beth Hunt told The Daily Mail.
Ronnie Haston’s myeloma diagnosis shocked his family, as he was previously healthy. Despite a treatment plan, he developed pneumonia after two chemotherapy rounds and died on April 6, 2024. “He never got to enjoy retirement,” said stepdaughter Beth Hunt, now running a marathon to fund blood cancer research.
