To prevent the school from’rewarding’ a suspected murderer, the father of a 17-year-old teen who was stabbed at a track meet has made a fervent appeal.
On April 2, Austin Metcalf was stabbed in the heart while attending the track and field final at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco with his younger brother, Hunter.
18-year-old Karmelo Anthony is charged with drawing a knife following a brawl over stands. According to legend, Metcalf passed away in his brother’s embrace.
Speaking to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, police stated that officers were called to the scene at approximately 10am, stating: “Despite lifesaving measures by police and fire personnel, including CPR and the administration of blood, the (17)-year-old victim died.”
According to NBC News, Anthony was detained and charged by Frisco police, but was later released from custody and placed under home arrest.

Jeffrey Metcalf, father of the late Austin Metcalf, has filed a formal complaint against Centennial High School for allowing Anthony, the teen accused of killing his son, to graduate. Despite being under house arrest, Anthony will not attend the ceremony but is expected to receive his diploma. His spokesman, Dominique Alexander, confirmed the Texas Education Agency complaint. Anthony’s family insists he acted in self-defense, while Austin’s parents dispute this narrative. At a recent press conference, Metcalf said he felt disrespected and was escorted out by police, stating he only wanted unity and prayer. The case remains deeply contentious and emotionally charged.
