My new favorite

Hockey has recently become my favorite sport, and the excitement it brings is unmatched. The energy in the arena, the speed of the players, and the roar of the crowd have all drawn me in completely. But my new passion led to an unexpectedly hilarious—and slightly dramatic—moment with my husband.

At a recent game, I took a selfie to capture my joy: decked out in my team’s jersey, holding a foam finger, and beaming with excitement. I sent it to my husband, expecting a smile or thumbs-up in return.

Instead, his reply stunned me: “We need to talk. I want a divorce.”

I froze. What could possibly be so wrong with a fun, innocent photo? My heart raced as confusion set in—until I looked closer at the picture.

There, in the background, was a subtle detail I hadn’t noticed: a stranger’s arm draped just a little too closely around me, completely unnoticed in the moment.

While it sparked momentary panic, we laughed about it later. Hockey, it seems, brings not only thrills but unforgettable stories—and I’m here for all of it.
