In the early morning of February 21, 2025, 38-year-old Danny Cahalane opened the door of his Plymouth, England home and was attacked with sulfuric acid. The brutal ambush occurred around 3:55 a.m. while his young daughter slept inside. Authorities allege the attack was orchestrated by his ex-girlfriend, Paris Wilson, 34, a former probation officer. Cahalane was hospitalized for nearly three months and died on May 3 despite medical intervention.
Wilson and eight others — including six men from London and one woman from Plymouth — were charged with conspiracy to murder and kidnap. One suspect, Israel Augustus, faces additional charges, including applying corrosive fluid with intent to harm. On June 2, six suspects were formally charged with murder. The next day, several pleaded not guilty at Plymouth Crown Court, while others withheld pleas.
Police say the attack was carried out by an organized crime group. Cahalane’s family, devastated by his loss, remembered him as a devoted father and son. In a tribute, they said, “We are struggling to come to terms with Danny’s passing… We cherish his love and memories.”
