The B-2 Spirit has never been confirmed to be shot down, according to credible sources. While rumors exist, particularly involving Serbia, they are “unfounded and lack support from any credible military or intelligence sources.”
2008 – Guam: A B-2 crashed due to “moisture entering the aircraft’s air data sensors,” which led to a stall during takeoff. Both pilots ejected safely.
2021 – Missouri: A crash during landing occurred, though “it was not a result of enemy action.”
The B-2’s stealth comes from its radar-absorbing materials, flying wing shape, and “low infrared (IR) signature.” Its radar cross-section is “approximately the size of a bird,” making it nearly invisible to enemy radar.
Defensive Capabilities
Equipped with “sophisticated electronic warfare systems,” and supported by detailed mission planning, the B-2 is designed to “completely evade air defenses.”
