According to Liz Rodriguez, the actor’s publicist, Michael Madsen passed away at the age of 67.
The Rodriguez family told CNN that Madsen suffered a heart collapse and was discovered unconscious in his Malibu home on Thursday.
Madsen’s managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, as well as Rodriguez said in a joint statement, “In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film, including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life.”

The renowned performer gained most of his fame from his long-term collaboration with Quentin Tarantino on films such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 2, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Although Reservoir Dogs received mixed reviews upon release, Michael Madsen’s performance stood out. Roger Ebert praised him, noting his “menacing screen presence” and comparing him to “a very mean Robert De Niro.” Madsen went on to appear in Sin City, Free Willy, and Thelma & Louise, and also lent his voice to video games like Grand Theft Auto and Dishonored. Tributes have poured in from across Hollywood, including from Captain America co-director Joe Russo, who tweeted, “Michael Madsen ALWAYS had bite.
