Jessica hoped Father’s Day dinner would bring both families together. Instead, it unraveled years of secrets. What began as awkward comments turned into a brutal accusation: Evelyn, James’s mother, claimed Jessica had cheated—and brought a DNA test to prove Willa wasn’t her granddaughter.
Jessica stood stunned, but not afraid. Her mother calmly broke the silence: “Of course Willa isn’t James’s biological child. James is sterile. They used a donor—with his full consent. I helped them.” Evelyn faltered, trying to find air as the truth crushed her assumptions.
James returned, overhearing everything. “You’re right, Mom,” he said. “Willa isn’t mine by blood. But she is my daughter. Because I chose her. Because we chose love over DNA.”

Willa asked, “Are we in trouble?”
