My first time having sex ended in a hospital visit. I was in my late teens, completely unprepared, and overwhelmed with anxiety. There was no foreplay, just pain, followed by heavy bleeding that wouldn’t stop. I ended up in A&E with tears on both vaginal walls and soaked through over 10 sanitary pads. The experience was traumatic, made worse by cultural taboos and a lack of proper sex education. I learned the hard way that comfort, communication, and arousal are essential. Sex shouldn’t be rushed or one-sided. If I could go back, I’d wait until I was fully ready. Now I know better—and I share this to help others avoid similar pain. We need better, honest sex education.
