MY SWEETEST OLD NEIGHBOR HELPED ME UNPACK. LATER, I FOUND HER NOTE IN THE BOX – IT MADE ME IMMEDIATELY SELL THE HOUSE.

When I moved into our cute little house, it was just me and my 6-year-old daughter, Lily, starting afresh after my tough divorce from her father. The place seemed perfect, with quiet streets and nice neighbors. One of them was Mrs. Hazel Thompson, this sweet old lady next door who totally reminded me of my grandma.
From day one, Mrs. Thompson was all smiles and cookies. On our moving day, she insisted on helping us unpack. I tried to say no, but she wasn’t having it. “Nonsense, dear. I’ve got plenty of energy left in these old bones,” she said, eyes twinkling.
We spent the whole afternoon together, laughing and chatting while we set up the kitchen, living room, and Lily’s room. Her company made the whole thing fun, and I was so grateful.
As it got dark, she hugged me goodbye and said, “If you need anything, dear, don’t hesitate to ask.” I watched her walk home, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
