AFTER 20 YEARS

Estimated read time 9 min read

After 20 years together, I left my cheating ex. He married the other woman, Thalia, soon after. I moved on, had my daughter Elowen, and ignored his texts. Then he died in a car crash—and left me his $700,000 estate.

Thalia was furious, insisting I didn’t deserve a cent. But then a letter from him arrived. He apologized, admitted he’d never stopped loving me, and said the money was his way of making things right.

Though the will was legally mine, Thalia sued, claiming undue influence. I was exhausted—balancing work, motherhood, and court. Then Ziven’s half-brother contacted me, confirming the will’s legitimacy. I won.

Thalia later sent a letter—she was pregnant and scared. I called her. We talked for hours, cried, and slowly became friends.

When her son Lior was born, I was there. I shared part of the estate with him, built a bakery, and created a new life.

Now, Elowen and Lior laugh together in our home. Thalia and I sip tea, not bound by the past but connected by healing.

Sometimes, life’s biggest heartbreaks lead to the most beautiful new beginnings.
