After Hulk Hogan Passes

Following the announcement that the legendary wrestler had passed away at the age of 71, the family of Hulk Hogan issued a statement.

Although it hasn’t been verified, early rumours said that the legendary wrestler had a heart arrest while at his Florida home.

According to a source close to the wrestler, Hogan was recuperating after a major heart surgery last month. This information was shared with US Weekly.

They said: “Hulk had pretty serious heart surgery a few weeks ago and was doing well afterward.”

Fans from all over the world lauded the icon for his character and charm, as well as his contribution to the sport of wrestling, as word of his demise spread on social media today.

In an official statement, his family said, “It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones.”

“At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends. May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades.”

Hogan is still one of the most well-known figures in wrestling and his impact on the sport cannot be overstated.

After Hogan’s family confirmed his death to US Weekly, tributes have been pouring in for him in the last few hours.

WWE said in a statement: “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.”

“WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Fans also posted to social media, with one writing, “Hard to describe this man’s dominance in our society during my childhood years. RIP to the Hulkster.”

A second added, “I grew up watching Hulk Hogan, first in the wrestling ring, then in movies like 3 Ninjas, Mr. Nanny, and Suburban Commando. He was a true character and one of the first wrestlers I saw make the leap into Hollywood. A larger-than-life icon. RIP, Champ.”

While a third remarked, “Whether you liked him or hated him as a person, professional wrestling wouldn’t be what it is today without Hulk Hogan.”

“Truly the end of an era. RIP.”
