Following the release of recently discovered images and video footage that provided additional details about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump dismissed a request for comment with a direct six-word statement.
Trump stated during his most recent presidential campaign that if elected, he would have “no problem” with disclosing documents pertaining to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi’s release of the so-called ‘first phase’ of declassified Epstein files in February 2025 was a partial fulfilment of the president’s pledge; however, by July, Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it had discovered ‘no basis’ to release additional files.
Additionally, the DOJ stated in its announcement earlier this month that it had discovered “no incriminating “client list.”

The decision not to release further files prompted speculation from some members of the public that Trump was ‘hiding’ details about Epstein, with the president only adding fuel to the fire when he was questioned by one reporter and responded, “Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable.”
After being questioned about photos taken in 1993, Trump attempted to silence the discussion between him and the disgraced financier once more, but he has since announced plans to release grand jury files pertaining to Epstein.
For the first time, CNN’s KFile has confirmed Jeffrey Epstein attended Donald Trump’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples. Photographer Dafydd Jones recalled spotting Epstein there, having previously photographed him with Trump. Trump dismissed the report as “fake news,” while a spokesperson said the photos were innocuous. Trump and Epstein had social ties until a fallout over a Palm Beach property deal in the 2000s.
