Fans of Ozzy Osbourne will have one final chance to honor the legendary rocker before he’s laid to rest in a small, private funeral with close family and friends. On Wednesday, the Birmingham City Council will host a public procession through the streets of Ozzy’s hometown. Beginning at 1 p.m., a hearse carrying Osbourne will move down Broad Street to the Black Sabbath Bridge, where thousands have already left floral tributes. A live brass band will accompany the procession in celebration of Ozzy’s life and legacy.

“Ozzy was more than a music legend—he was a son of Birmingham,” said Lord Mayor Zafar Iqbal. “We’re proud to give him the farewell he deserves.”
Ozzy’s family, including wife Sharon and children Aimee, Jack, and Kelly, say the private service will reflect his wishes for a joyful farewell. In 2011, Ozzy joked that he wanted his funeral to be fun, not a “mope-fest,” complete with pranks and laughter.
He passed away peacefully on July 22, surrounded by loved ones. Though gone, Ozzy’s legacy as a rock icon and a symbol of resilience will continue to inspire generations to come.
