Actor & Broadway Star Passed Away At 85

Tony Roberts, the veteran stage and screen actor celebrated for his sharp wit, magnetic presence, and memorable collaborations with Woody Allen and Sidney Lumet, has died at the age of 85. His daughter, Nicole Barley, confirmed that he passed away peacefully at his Manhattan home after complications from lung cancer. Barley is his only surviving family member. Born in New York City in 1939, Roberts grew up immersed in the city’s culture, a child of Manhattan who would go on to carve out a place for himself on both Broadway and in Hollywood. He studied theater at Northwestern University
