If you recognize these three pedals, you’ve likely driven (or at least seen) a manual transmission car! Once a staple of driving, especially before the 2000s, manual or “stick shift” cars have three pedals: the clutch on the left, the brake in the middle, and the accelerator on the right. While manual cars were once very common and taught many drivers the art of gear-shifting, they’ve become rarer in an age of automatics. If you know what these pedals do, you’ve got a bit of classic car knowledge under your belt!
