A devastated family have told of the extreme shock of learning their ‘sporty’ 15 year-old has inoperable, aggressive brain cancer – with the only warning sign striking hours before his diagnosis.
Callum Stone, 15, from Chelmsford, Essex, was hit by a debilitating migraine one January morning during the school day.
Callum Stone, 15, was a healthy teenager until he began struggling to speak and suffered seizures. Initial hospital visits suggested a viral infection, but further scans at Great Ormond Street revealed a large, inoperable grade four glioma growing like a “cobweb.” Despite the aggressive brain tumour, Callum has embraced exercise and healthy eating while undergoing radiotherapy and preparing for chemotherapy. His family describes him as resilient and caring, focusing on supporting loved ones even amid treatment. With limited NHS options, they’ve launched a GoFundMe to explore alternative therapies abroad, including clinics in Germany and clinical trials in San Francisco.
